Crew: Captain Amadeus "Mad Art" Mozart (NPC)

Most in Burnham know of the Captain. None in the verse is better at takin’ down Reavers, but most don’t know the madness that drives the man. Now the Captain ain’t much for talkin’ but what we have here has been pieced together from tales from old friends, tidbits of what can be found on the Cortex, and those bits that come from his crew.

Starts off the captain was some hard-ass Alliance pilot who spent most of his time on the border planets. Privileged at birth, his parents must had a special place for music, thus the name. However that name turned art in flyin’ as the Cap was know for his dead-on aerial combat and precision. When he went to figurin’ on a mission’s outcome, he could pull a victory out of feh feh Pi goh.

So the wong ba duhn Alliance decides to send him to take out Browncoat patrols near the newly terriformed planet of Lilac. Bout the time he nears Lilac, the cap runs afoul of a Reaver vessel. He launched a battery as they approached, but they tagged his ship with a grappler.

The crew put up a hell of a fight, but by the end, only Amadeus and a mechanic named Willy remained. They’d managed to get a signal off to command, but command didn’t tally much value on actions out in the rim, and they was described as “acceptable losses” and they should “make the best of it.”

Most of the goram Reavers were dead, but those that remained had Willy and him cornered. The cap took a shot to the leg and fell unconscious, smackin’ his head powerful hard against a storage locker. When he woke he found a Reaver munchin’ on his legs down to his torso. His guts was hangin’ to the floor, but Mad Art wouldn’t be flustered. He grabs his intestines and strangles that Reaver on the spot.

Willy was still kickin’ or at least he would be if his leg hadn’t been plumb chopped off. His blood had run scarce, but he had one by the head and managed to break the chwenn joo’s neck before he passed from waking.

Mad also wasn’t long with daylight, but was surprised when a Jone Yee stormed the room and made short work of the one Reaver still chewin’. Apparently one of the Browncoat boats the cap had been sent to ambush, had come by and seein’ that it all had gone south had decided to throw it all to the wind and see if they could help.

Cap and Willy were takin’ to Whitefall and were patched up as best could be expected. Heck, maybe even better since the captain by all rights should have been dead.

The Alliance brought Amadeus back to the core planets and graced him with some shiny medals and an honorable discharge. However he weren’t proud and moved out to the rim, where he spent his whole pension on the ship that’s now known as the Betty, from a dealer on the planet Beylix.
